Celebrating Acts of Kindness: Thacher Elementary Honors Olivia Knighton on World Kindness Day
One of the core missions of the Olivia Knighton Foundation is to inspire and spread acts of kindness throughout communities. On World Kindness Day, November 13th, 2023, Thacher Elementary School in Attleboro, Massachusetts, embraced this mission to honor Olivia Knighton with a series of thoughtful initiatives.
The student council led efforts to raise funds by collecting donations from students, which they generously contributed to the Olivia Knighton Foundation. Additionally, the students created a heartwarming poster featuring every student’s signature, symbolizing unity and shared commitment to kindness. Throughout the week, the school fostered meaningful conversations about kindness, encouraging students to participate in acts of goodwill.
Students filled out teal butterfly-themed #LOVEforLIV forms that read: “This random act of kindness was done in memory of Olivia Knighton.” Each student documented an act of kindness they either performed or witnessed, and these forms were displayed prominently on the school walls, creating an inspiring visual for all to see.
At the Early Learning Center, preschool students contributed by painting a stunning mural that showcased their teal-painted handprints surrounding the #LOVEforLIV butterfly logo. This mural stands as a lasting symbol of kindness and community, cherished by students, staff, and parents alike.
The Olivia Knighton Foundation is deeply honored to witness such a positive and heartfelt response in the Attleboro community. These acts of kindness serve as a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we come together in memory of Olivia Knighton.
